VENETIAN
ROOF TERRACE
A small space on the rooftops of this 17th century house in
the heart of Venice with views of the Canale Grande has been
transformed into an exciting contemporary area for dining
and chilling out. A new balustrade of layers of steel mesh
overlaid to give a moiré pattern encloses the area
with new flooring of marble interspersed with polished steel
strips with recessed fibre optic lighting. As the owners are
not always in residence, fake Buxus balls in galvanised planters
line a wall overlooking the Salute whilst other planters contain
fake grass. A bespoke corner upright water feature completes
the scene. |
