All photographs/images Christine Facer (copyright 2008)   LARGE COUNTRY HOUSE PATIO - NORTH WALES A new patio area leading from a new extension to the back of this Welsh farmhouse is laid with rectangular flagstones and diagonal ‘channels’ of blue Welsh slate. A steep bank rises and is designed as a series of wide amphitheatre steps providing drama and impact, the distance between the steps based on the Fibonacci number sequence. The 1st terrace is planted; the 2nd is turfed and can be walked on; the 3rd has slate fishtail tiles set into cement at an angle of 30 degrees.
