All photographs/images Christine Facer (copyright 2008)   PATERNITY DNA SUITE The analysis of DNA banding patterns for the determination of paternity (DNA profiling) was used as an idea for this garden. A minimalist approach featuring ‘bands’ of planting interspersed with narrow bands of green astroturf. One band is very different – a small canal- representing the Inclusion Band. The Bridge over Troubled Water crosses this canal and a raised decking bench, the Court Bench for Viewing the Evidence overlooks the entire garden. Even the planting is symbolic – a red apple tree is inscribed Forbidden Fruit and red roses, the flower of passion and love, are mass planted in one of the bands.
