LANDSCAPING AT MAGGIE’S CANCER CARING CENTRE, CHELTENHAM FacerHoffman Landscape Design has been commissioned to design an exciting new landscape surrounding the new Maggie's Centre in Cheltenham alongside the architect of the centre, Sir Richard MacCormac, past President of RIBA. EXHIBITIONS "Painting the West Country House & Garden" 31st January to 17th April 2006 at The Holburne Museum of Art, Bath (Tel: 01225 466669, holburne@bath.ac.uk) An exhibition to be officially opened by The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on Friday 3rd February 2006. 30 paintings ranging from topographical views of houses and their estates to images of country gardens, castles, follies and farms with work by major landscape painters, architects and landscape designers. Loans include a view of Highgrove from the collection of the Prince of Wales, Longleat form the Marquis of Bath, Longford Castle lent by the Earl of Radnor. Two paintings of Througham Court house and garden appear in the exhibition: 1. Througham Court , 1997 by Jonathan Myles-Lea (a birds eye view oil painting of the house and garden -see illustration and article in Homes & Antiques, February 2006, page 20) 2. Througham Court, 1997 by Tim Dolby (a miniature watercolour on velum). DESIGN Througham Court Garden A new ‘viewing’ terrace at Througham Court called CHIRAL TERRACE is now completed. Inspiration comes from the concept of molecular chirality or handedness.
