This design was one of 20 chosen from a competition
entry of 400 designs for the 1st International Westonbirt
Festival of Gardens. It is a celebration of my background
in medical genetics containing intriguing features such as
DNA Bank (water rippling down a mirrored surface);
Boxed Genes (clipped box balls representing genes and
their mutations, planted in bespoke steel planters);
Splice Bed (‘jungle ‘ plants spliced alongside ‘desert’
plants with cacti); all linked with Cell Cycling Paths.
The garden received extensive media coverage including
HTV West, BBC2 TV and Radio 2 Woman’s Hour.
